Lower Your Energy Costs. Improve Your Home. At No Cost to You.

The Residential Energy Equity (REE) Program helps income-eligible homeowners on Maryland's Eastern Shore make their homes more energy-efficient, more comfortable, and less expensive to heat and cool, at no cost to qualifying households.

WHAT IS THE REE PROGRAM

The REE Program is a Maryland Energy Administration (MEA)-funded initiative that provides whole-home energy upgrades to income-eligible homeowners across the Eastern Shore. Depending on what your home needs, upgrades can include insulation and air sealing, HVAC replacement, water heater upgrades, and other measures that reduce energy waste and lower utility bills.

11th House Initiatives manages the program from first contact through completed work: eligibility screening, home assessment, project scoping, contractor coordination, and quality assurance. Every project is inspected and verified before it's considered complete.

WHO QUALIFIES

You may be eligible if:

  • Your household income falls within program limits (screening determines this — reach out and we'll walk you through it)

  • You own and occupy your home

  • Your home is located in one of the following Eastern Shore counties: Caroline, Dorchester, Kent, Queen Anne's, Somerset, Talbot, Worcester, or Wicomico

There's no cost or obligation to find out if you qualify. Reach out and our team will guide you through a short screening process.

WHAT'S COVERED

The scope of work is based on what your home actually needs, determined through a home energy assessment. Depending on your home's condition, projects may include:

  • Weatherization upgrades (insulation, air sealing, and related efficiency measures) — up to $8,500

  • Whole-home electrification projects, including upgrades to your water heater and/or HVAC system — up to $21,000

  • Health and safety repairs directly needed to complete the project safely — up to $5,000

All work is performed by licensed, vetted contractors. 11th House Initiatives does not perform installation work directly — our role is to manage the process, verify eligibility, coordinate contractors, and ensure the work meets program standards from start to finish.

HOW IT WORKS

  1. Reach out. Contact us to start the process — no cost, no obligation.

  2. Get screened. We'll check your eligibility and answer your questions.

  3. Home assessment. A qualified assessor evaluates your home and identifies what it needs.

  4. Scope and approval. We build a project scope based on the assessment and get it approved.

  5. Work gets done. A licensed contractor completes the approved work.

  6. Quality check. We verify the work meets program standards before the project closes out.

WHY 11TH HOUSE INITIATIVES

11th House Initiatives is a Maryland nonprofit built to close the gap between available public resources and the households who need them. Our team brings 15+ years of direct experience managing energy efficiency, housing, and weatherization programs across Maryland's Eastern Shore and Delaware, with a track record that includes over $17 million in program funding managed and thousands of households served.

We're not a contractor and we don't install anything ourselves. Our job is to make sure the process works, from the moment you reach out to the moment your project is complete.

FUNDER ACKNOWLEDGMENT
